Meet Clementine
Clementine’s fascination with architecture began during summers spent with family in England, where she became quietly aware of the differences between the homes there and those she knew in the United States.
She was drawn to how buildings related to their landscape, how materials aged with time, and how spaces felt composed rather than assembled. These early observations sparked questions about why certain places endure and why some spaces simply feel better to inhabit.
Much of this curiosity was shaped by time spent exploring the abandoned grounds of Kendal Castle in England’s Lake District and Caernarvon castle in Wales. The way memory, history, and atmosphere lingered in those spaces left a lasting impression, planting a desire to shape how people move through, connect with, and ultimately feel at home in the world.
She went on to study architecture at Georgia Tech.
Here, she explored both modern and classical architecture traditions. While in school, Clementine discovered the intimacy of residential architecture. Designing homes offers a rare glimpse into the daily rhythms of clients’ lives and forges a bond between architect and client that is often absent in commercial work. She values these relationships deeply and takes great care in translating each client’s unique habits, values, and eccentricities into thoughtful, personal design.
After graduating, Clementine interned at several high end custom residential firms in the Atlanta area. Over the next decade, she gained experience in spatial planning, green building design, and interior, furniture, and millwork design. She relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2013 and in 2019 formally founded Clementine Residential Designs, LLC.
For more than five years Clementine has created timeless homes for clients with whom she often maintains lasting friendships.
She specializes in renovations, additions, and custom new construction. Because no two homes or families are the same, each project begins with a bespoke proposal.
